Reich & Tang Funds was one of the pioneers of the money fund industry, creating the country's fourth money fund in 1974. During these twenty-seven years, our family of money funds has grown through the addition of funds with specialized investment objectives. As of March 31, 2003, we managed over $14 billion in money market assets.
Reich & Tang Funds, throughout its history, has been a wholesaler of money funds, distributing them through financial intermediaries who, in turn, utilize our funds for their clients. Unlike most retail-oriented fund groups, our marketing policy has been to avoid competing with our clients. Accordingly, we do not advertise, attempt to develop name recognition, or otherwise make our funds available to the general public. Our success has been predicated upon developing niche products and assisting various financial institutions in their distribution.
Clients include broker/dealers, public entities, banks and investment advisors, many of whom use our funds on a private label basis. Among the organizations who currently have private label classes of our funds are Metlife, JP Morgan Funds, First Southwest Company, BNP Paribas and KeyCorp. Other clients have elected to begin their own fund families and, in those cases, Reich & Tang has provided product development and general administration services.
